The Dana Point Harbor Revitalization Plan, Local Coastal Program Amendment (LCPA) Implementation Plan (IP) was approved by the California Coastal Commission (CCC) in January 2011. This was an important milestone for the Harbor Revitalization and we want to thank all of you who gave your support in leading up to these recent CCC approvals. We also want to thank those who attended the more recent hearing at the Dana Point City Council to approve some modifications suggested by the CCC. The final step of this LCPA certification should occur this October with the Coastal Commission's Executive Director giving his concurrence with these approvals.
Next year, the Harbor Revitalization Team will be busy preparing the designs & studies required for the Coastal Development Permit (CDP) Application. The CDP for the Commercial Core area will require approval by the City of Dana Point. We are told that hearings for these approvals should be expected sometime around the 4th quarter of 2012.
We will once again need your help in supporting the project at that time.
